Rimma Perelmuter

Rimma has worked in in the mobile industry for the 13 years and has a strong background in non-for-profit management and international business development. She is passionate about the transformational power of mobile; empowering people and companies to succeed by harnessing the power of networks and partnerships and driving initiatives that accelerate marketplace development.

Since its launch in 2001, Rimma has been a driving force at MEF, establishing it as the premier trade association for the mobile content and commerce industry and growing its global footprint to include chapters in EMEA (including a ME office co-founded by Ooredoo & the recently launched Africa office in association with Vodacom), Asia, North and Latin America. As CEO, she has a strategic and commercial role across the organisation focused upon MEF's expanded remit and delivering business benefits to members.

She is also a Co-Founder of Women in Wireless UK and co-chairs its Development committee. Prior to MEF, Rimma worked for an internet start-up and several global trade associations based in Washington DC. A bi-lingual English-Russian speaker, she holds a Masters degree from the London School of Economics and a Bachelors degree from Cornell University.

Andrew Bud

Founder and Non-Executive Director

Andrew has been the Chairman of the Global Board of MEF since 2008. He helped found MEF in 2001 and was re-elected to its Board in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009. From 2005-2008 he was a non-executive director of PhonePayPlus, the agency of UK regulator Ofcom responsible for premium-rate telecoms services.

Andrew is the Founder and Director of mBlox Inc, the world’s largest mobile transaction network which handles enterprise SMS and mobile premium transactions for companies worldwide. Prior to becoming Executive Chairman, Andrew was the CEO of mBlox, which he co-founded in 1999 and led to profitability. From 1988 to 1996, Andrew was head of mobile technology for Olivetti in Italy, where he developed and launched Europe’s first wireless networks for PCs. In 1994, while at Olivetti, he became the founding technical head of Omnitel (now Vodafone Italia). Between 1996 and 1999 he was a Director at Connect Communications Group and at Azlan PLC, pan-European companies in the telecommunications products and services sector. His earlier background was in mobile technology R&D.

Andrew is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET, with a degree from the University of Cambridge. He delivered the 2009 Appleton Lecture for the IET on “New Approaches to Digital Distribution”, and in August 2009 was named by as one of the top fifty mobile industry executives worldwide.


Filipe Roup Rosa

As founder, Country Manager and Board advisor of some of the most influential VAS companies in the region, Filipe Roup Rosa has acquired a unique ‘know-how’ insight and ‘know-who’ access into the mobile industry. With over 12 years of experience, working with the largest Carriers, Content Providers and Aggregators, Filipe is currently responsible for developing Boku’s presence in Brazil and also serves as a Special Advisor for MEF.

Filipe began working at MEF LATAM as General Manager. He helped MEF with achieving strong results such as launching MEF LatAM (2009), build a strong Brazil brand equity and base of committed members. As a Board Member and Special Advisor, Filipe continues to champion MEF externally and provides consistent support and guidance to the MEF Executive and leadership.

Judith Bitterli
Chief Marketing Officer
AVG Technologies

Judith Bitterli is chief marketing officer and head of customer services for AVG Technologies, leading the company’s global branding, marketing, communications and customer services strategy for AVG. The company has over 18. million active users, with more than 8. million of them mobile, using AVG’s security products for their devices, their data and their families. AVG also has a social media following of more than 3,000,00. Facebook fans and 176,00. Twitter followers.

A regular on the speaker circuit on issues surrounding boomers, small business, security and child internet safety, Judith brings over twenty-five years executive experience in marketing, sales and operations with companies such as Softbank, RealNetworks, Micron and CompuAdd.

Judith’s background as a former business owner of three businesses in the technology space combined with her current mobile-focused role at AVG would support MEF’s brand maturation and goal to raise awareness of its role and relevance within the highly competitive mobile industry.

Darren Foulds

Darren has over 14 years’ experience working in financial services, design and mobile services. As the Managing Director for Mobile Banking and Barclays Pingit, an award winning payments platform, Darren is responsible for the global development of these propositions; focused upon innovation, building partnerships and product development to deliver real value to consumers.

Darren is passionate about putting the customer at the heart of design and leveraging the increased engagement we see through mobile to bring new products and services to consumers. Of particular interest is how we extend these services to new markets and bring the benefits of simplified payments to both banked and unbanked customers.

Working within a global organisation gives Darren wide exposure to mobile initiatives and issues across multiple territories. As a Board member, Darren is keen to bring this experience and leverage Barclays’ global network to support the key initiatives and activities of MEF in developed and growth markets of EMEA and NA. In particular he is keen to further MEF’s m-commerce agenda with an emphasis on addressing the common Industry challenges around big data, transparency and consumer trust and accessibility of services to all parts of the community.

Neil Johnson
Managing Director
DMG Media

Neil runs DMG Mobile & TV, the platform specialist unit for DMG Media, the consumer publishing division of the DMGT Group. DMG Media operates the leading newspapers Metro, Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday.

His main role is looking after Mail Plus, the tablet version of the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday. It re-imagines the paper for tablets and is the premium subscription product for the group which takes the enormous success of the Daily Mail into tablet publishing for the first time.

Another key focus is on building the group's presence in mobile, helping the brands present themselves to mobile users in innovative and effective ways. In addition, Neil runs three profitable TV channels on digital terrestrial television in the UK and assists the management of the group's TV interests including its investment in Inview Technology, a IPTV start-up with a European focus.

He has a wealth of experience in all commercial aspects of digital media from marketing, sales, subscription management, business planning and partnerships.

Colin J G Miles

Vice President, Corporate Marketing

Colin has been Chair of industry association MEF Asia since June 2011 and as such, serves on the Board of MEF; the global community for content and commerce – which is headquartered in London.

His role is to advance the cause of the industry on many levels and at various events around the region. Colin is a well-known figure in the mobile media industry in Asia and (following a successful M&A) is now an executive for leading mobile marketing company, InternetQ [AIM:INTQ] helping develop its business and promote its fast-growing Social Entertainment products like He was also a judge for the GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2012.

Mark Harding
Media and Digital Content Director

Mark leads a series of digital content reviews on behalf of the music majors and other content owners. These reviews involve gaining a deep understanding of the evolving digital content value chain. The team Mark leads is currently engaged in more that 30 digital content reviews (mobile and online) which includes all of the major European mobile network operators, acting on behalf of the music majors but at the same time helping the digital distributors with their existing controls and reporting provides a unique insight on the industry.

Mark is close to the ‘on the ground’ issues faced by both the content owners and the digital distributors as both look to improve control whilst at the same time innovate with new products and revenue streams.

Rick Fant

VP, Planning and Ecosystem

As VP, Planning and Ecosystem, Rick coordinates overall strategy discussion and product road map planning for Firefox OS.  Previously he was GM of Apps and the Firefox Marketplace. Rick joined Mozilla from Vodafone in the UK where he was the Program Director for the combination of Internet services and bespoke handsets marketed as Vodafone 360.  Prior to Vodafone, Rick had a long career at Microsoft starting in application development and deployment; growing to server product development and marketing and evolving into managing product teams in the delivery of mobile applications and services. Rick gained an extensive background in software development and organization management with Tandem computers and US West communications.

Ooredoo Group

Thomas has been a key proponent for Ooredoo’s development since 2007. He leads on Ooredoo’s commercial strategy & execution at the Group level and with operating companies, particularly focusing on enhancing Customer Experience for Ooredoo’s 94 Million subscribers. In his role strategic partnership role, he has also built a unique portfolio of content offerings to distinguish the Ooredoo brand.

With over 14 years' TMT experience, Thomas started his career by founding a start-up internet press agency. Thereafter, he joined Cap Gemini Consulting and then served as a senior advisor to leading telecom and media companies in the Middle East and Europe.

Thomas is a graduate of Paris Institute of Political Science and the LSE.


Tom Hall
VP Education Technology Partnerships

Tom graduated from Durham University and Beijing’s People University in Modern Chinese. He spent his early career in Beijing’s fledgling magazine industry including at the publisher Dorling Kindersley (Penguin Group). He then drove Digital Sales strategy for DK and Rough Guides focusing on product development & building up its licensing business to advance the brand into new directions. In 2010, Tom moved to the Pearson’s Future Technologies team, where he is currently VP, Education Technology Partnerships. Tom is a mentor at the TechStars and Seedcamp programs & advisor to several early-stage education start-ups.

Given the tremendous shift already underway in the global classroom today, mass adoption of mobile devices will fundamentally transform the way in which students access education. Pearson wants to be open and collaborative during this shift, and build tight relations with the mobile community to deliver better learning experiences and results.

James has held a number of leadership roles across Telefonica and is the global lead for Telefonica's wholesale messaging service covering 19 markets across LATAM and Europe. Telefonica is extremely well positioned to deliver new customer engagement models and innovation. James will work with MEF’s members to drive the take up of new services in each market, especially in LATAM in 2015.

During his time at Telefónica, James has led the Interactive business, providing messaging services for both the indirect and direct markets. More recently, as Commercial Director for O2 Media, James worked on the transition from O2 Media into Weve to create a single UK operator platform for mobile marketing and commerce. In parallel James led Telefonica's Olympics project team for business, winning awards for great customer experience.

Ricardo is a co-founder and Managing Partner of TIMWE, a global provider of mobile monetization solutions, focused on mobile marketing, mobile entertainment and mobile money & payments, with operations in more than 75 markets, managed through 26 offices.

Having launched TIMWE’s international operations in 2003, Ricardo has gained many years of experience developing business throughout the world. Prior to TIMWE, Ricardo co-founded and managed the web portal and later sold it to Portugal Telecom (Portugal’s leading telecommunications company). He was also strategic advisor to several mobile marketing and entertainment firms, as well as Board Advisor of the leading Portuguese media group Cofina.
